As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a motivated Construction Inspector to join our team. This opportunity is ideal for a co-op student in their 3rd or 4th year, or a recent graduate looking to launch their career in infrastructure and construction inspection.
Position Summary
The Construction Inspector will support on-site inspection and reporting duties to ensure construction activities meet project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and mentoring while contributing directly to project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
- Support senior inspectors and project managers with construction monitoring and documentation
- Prepare daily site reports and note progress, materials, and contractor performance
- Identify and report deficiencies or safety concerns
- Assist in reviewing construction documents, submittals, and drawings
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve site issues
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental protocols
- Attend project meetings and contribute to technical discussions
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a diploma or degree program in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Environmental), Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Past co-op or internship experience an asset
- Strong understanding of construction processes and engineering plans
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and reporting skills
- Familiarity with project management software and applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset (for site travel)
- Interest in pursuing designations such as EIT or C.Tech. is a plus
- Enrollment in or completion of PMP certification is considered an asset
