Barry’s Bay Water Pollution Control Plant Upgrades

Project Overview

Estimated Construction Value: CAD ~ $7.2M

The Barry’s Bay Water Pollution Control Plant, located in the Township of Madawaska Valley, Ontario, underwent significant upgrades to enhance its wastewater treatment capabilities. These improvements aimed to modernize the facility, ensuring it meets current environmental standards and can accommodate future community growth. Key enhancements included the construction of a new blower building, installation of tertiary filters, and upgrades to the plant's infrastructure to improve operational efficiency.

The project received funding support from both the federal and provincial governments, highlighting its importance to the region's environmental sustainability. By upgrading the plant's systems, the initiative ensures better treatment of wastewater, leading to improved water quality in local water bodies and a healthier ecosystem. These enhancements not only benefit the environment but also support the well-being of the Barry’s Bay community.
