The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension is a 9.2-kilometre addition to the existing Eglinton Crosstown LRT, extending service from Mount Dennis Station to Renforth Drive. This extension will enhance connectivity in Etobicoke and Mississauga, providing a continuous rapid transit line across the city. (Metrolinx homepage)
The project involves significant tunneling work, with the final segment between Jane Street and Mount Dennis Station currently under construction. Once completed, it will offer improved transit options and reduce travel times for commuters in the western GTA.
The project includes both underground and elevated sections, with tunnel boring machines already at work. Once completed, ECWE will provide faster travel options, reduce reliance on personal vehicles, and support growing communities with sustainable, electric rail solutions.
This was not undertaken by Infrastructure United. However, several of our team members contributed to this project prior to joining our organization. Their experience and expertise gained from such projects enhance the capabilities we offer to our clients today.
