Hwy 129 Structural Culvert Replacement

Project Overview
Replacement of two structural culverts and associated roadway enhancements along Highway 129 to improve safety, drainage, and roadway integrity.
Key Components
- Grading, Drainage & Hot Mix Paving – Full-depth surface treatment removal, installation of 50 mm Superpave 12.5 surface course, and placement of 150 mm Granular ‘A’ and 300/325 mm Granular ‘B’ Type II.
- Structural Culvert Replacement – Complete replacement of Structural Culverts 38S-0623/C0 and 38S-0624/C0, including embankment widening and temporary modular bridge installations.
- Roadside Safety Improvements – Upgrades to steel beam guiderails (SBGR), new end treatments, and removal of outdated cable guide rails to meet MTO standards.
- Signage & Pavement Markings – Replacement of select static signs based on reflectivity and condition assessments, and installation of bilingual signage as required.
- Stormwater Management & Drainage – Enhanced drainage with improved ditching, designed for a 25-year flow period with consideration for 100-year and regulatory storm events.
- Traffic Management & Staging – One-lane, two-way staging using temporary traffic signals, modular bridges, and embankment widening to maintain safe traffic flow during construction.
