The SSE will replace the aging Scarborough RT with a 7.8 km extension of Line 2, stretching from Kennedy Station to Sheppard and McCowan. It will include three new stations and offer faster, more reliable service for eastern Toronto communities.
This project is being built in phases, with tunneling already underway. Once operational, it will significantly reduce travel times, improve accessibility in Scarborough, and align with long-term transit development plans in Toronto. (Infrastructure Ontario)
