Yonge North Subway Extension (YNSE)

Estimated Construction Value: CAD - $5.6Bn
The YNSE extends Line 1 of the TTC from Finch Station to Richmond Hill, adding approximately 8 km of track and 5 new stations. This long-anticipated expansion will bring subway service into York Region, connecting high-density areas and relieving crowding on other transit corridors. This project aims to improve transit accessibility for residents in York Region and reduce congestion on existing lines. (Metrolinx homepage)
By providing seamless connections to local and regional transit systems, the extension will facilitate easier commutes and support the region's growing population. Construction is planned to commence following the completion of the Ontario Line. (Metrolinx homepage)
