Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Monitor contractors’ work and progress, documenting findings with detailed daily inspection reports.
- Assign work to Construction Inspectors, and lead the progress.
- Identify and report deficiencies, unsafe practices, or deviations from project requirements.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues on site.
- Verify materials and workmanship meet contract requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
- Ensure all inspections comply with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in construction inspection or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting software.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
- PMP certification or enrollment is an asset.
- P.Eng., EIT, CET is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification or enrollment
- P.Eng., EIT, CET
Pay Range:
- Senior Construction Inspector: $65,000 – 130,000 CAD Annually
